Kathy Fransham - Funeral Director

Kathy Fransham has an acute eye for detail and marks her role as funeral director with an outstanding competency. She can be relied upon for thoroughness at all times and is invaluable when funeral arrangements are particularly complicated.

Kathy joined us in 2007 and graduated with a National Certificate of Funeral Directing in September 2009, earning the Top Overall Student award for her class. In 2010 she won the inaugural FDANZ President's Award. She has recently taken on the role of Secretary-Treasurer for the Funeral Directors' Association of New Zealand, Auckland District.

Kathy has an administrative and management background having worked for an employment agency for people with disabilities, managed an administration team at Special Education in the Ministry of Education and helped husband Paul in his roles as a parish minister in Katikati, California and Invercargill.

She has been involved extensively in voluntary administration work for the churches, kindergartens, schools and interest groups to which her family has belonged.

Kathy considers her role at Dil’s to be a combination of the acquired experience of her working and volunteer background, along with the natural empathy and desire she has to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Away from work, Kathy and her husband enjoy taking advantage of the recreational opportunities offered by the Hauraki Gulf near their Hibiscus Coast home. When weather and time preclude these activities, she can be found with a good book or at her sewing machine.

With three grown-up children, Kathy relishes time with her expanding family which now includes a son-in-law and three grandchildren.
